The 2022 Sara Scholarship application is now available. In 2022, at least twelve (12) female high school students who have some connection with golf will receive $2000 scholarships.
BRIEF HISTORY OF SARA
2011 saw the passing of Sara Sheehan. Sara had a genuine enthusiasm for the game and was a true golfer. Whether she was healthy or not, she practiced as much as she could; later in life, she could only manage a few holes at once.
Sara enjoyed taking lessons and practicing a lot. She adored the sport because, in addition to being enjoyable, she thought it cultivated character traits, particularly those of dedication and patience. She believed that there weren’t enough young women playing or enjoying golf. The Sara Scholarship, which was created in her honor, aims to assist young women who do in achieving their life objectives.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The Sara Scholarship was created in 2012 as a part of Sara Sheehan’s last will and testament after she passed away in 2011. The prize, which is supported by the Henry & Sara Sheehan Foundation, is given each year to female high school seniors who want to major in education and who exhibit academic distinction, exceptional character, financial need, and active participation in the game of golf. Golfing ability is not a must.
The Sara Scholarship provides a yearly award of $2000 to be used for tuition, books, board, and other costs.
In 2022, at least twelve $2000 scholarships will be given out.
