Summary for Position
The Ground Operations Crew assists with ramp service tasks, such as waste disposal and re-servicing of aircraft, loads and unloads customer bags, drives vehicles and other ground service equipment, plans the servicing of arriving and departing aircraft, and helps get the aircraft cabin ready for takeoff. Additionally, the Ground Operations Crew will support Customers as needed and fulfill any ad hoc needs. Both comforts in servicing customers and computer proficiency are requirements. Crew members must be ready to operate outside in a variety of weather-related circumstances.
Priorities of Responsibilities
• Run vehicles, tugs, and elevated de-icing equipment used for ground service; • Run ground service equipment used for servicing aircraft (Potable water truck, ground power unit, tug, aircraft pushback, lavatory truck, deicing truck, etc.)
• Operates external aircraft equipment • Assists in cleaning the cabin for customer boarding and departure, which can include cleaning the seats, seat pockets, floor, galleys, and restrooms • Assists Customers with Special Needs, such as Customers who need assistance in boarding • Guides aircraft to and from aircraft parking locations • Tags, lifts, loads, and unloads Customer bags (in excess of 100 lbs) from the baggage compartment of the aircraft and baggage system

Minimum Qualifications And Experience
• Must be at least 18 years old • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) diploma • One (1) year of experience in customer service or sales
Complete proficiency in spoken and written English; completion of a job assessment; and ability to follow the standards in the JetBlue Uniform Policy Manual.
• Must be able to give and receive verbal communication; • Must be able to use handheld radios and headsets to communicate with the cockp; • Must be able to travel; • Must be able to work variable hours, flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends; • Must follow safety guidelines; • Must be able to perform under pressure and within set time constraints; • Must be able to work in all types of weather;
Ability to handle objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds frequently, and/or seventy to one hundred (70-100) pounds occasionally, with the aid of others or tools, and to be in a position requiring bending, crouching, or kneeling.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge.
• Depending on the location, obtaining and maintaining a United States Customs Clearance may be necessary.
• Legally able to work in the nation where the position is located; • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test; • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, and your driving record must meet JetBlue Airways insurance standards from the state where your principal residence is.

• Microsoft Office proficiency; • Previous airline experience; • Bilingualism
Expectations for Crewmembers: • Regular attendance and punctuality; • The ability to maintain a professional appearance; • The potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice; • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light aircraft cleaning; • Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun;
• Complying with all applicable laws, rules, and company policies, procedures, and risk controls (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.);

Jet bridges and/or air stairs are used as customer boarding/deboarding equipment. Free-standing computer kiosks are used to identify and process customer reservations. Light Emitting Diode (LED) screens and signs are used as ground service equipment. Handheld radios and public address systems are also used.
Work Environment:
• Ramp environment at an airport, where there may be weather changes and louder noise levels;
• Weekend or irregular shift availability;
• Capability of making sporadic trips to other locations for training or temporary assignments; • Capability of standing for an extended period of time.
Physical Effort:
• Moderate physical activity is necessary to handle objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and/or seventy (70-100) pounds sporadically with the aid of other persons or tools and to be in a position that requires bending, crouching, kneeling, etc.
Pay: The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.25.
