BRIAN TERRY FOUNDATION
A nonprofit foundation called the Brian Terry Foundation was established in Brian A. Terry’s memory. Terry was a fallen member of the U.S. Border Patrol. Giving academic scholarships to young people who personify the virtues of justice, integrity, and accountability—qualities Brian Terry personified during his lifetime—is one of the foundation’s main objectives. The Brian Terry Foundation knows how vital it is to assist students in their pursuit of academic greatness because education is a key component of success. The Brian Terry Scholarship is distinctive in that it is designed for students who want to study criminal law or a closely related subject of study with the goal of working in law enforcement in the future. This goal is furthered by the scholarship program offered by the Brian Terry Foundation, which aids college-bound or enrolled students. Students who are awarded a scholarship from the Brian Terry Foundation will be given money to help with the costs and expenditures of going to college. College acceptance or enrollment is a requirement for Brian Terry Scholars. Criminal justice or a closely related field of study MUST be the intended major for Brian Terry Scholars. Brian Terry Scholars Should be enrolled in an undergraduate program right now.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The submission of applications will start in January 2023. For the academic year 2022–2023, we are now taking applications for the Brian Terry Scholarship Program. First-come, first-served criteria will be used to evaluate and accept scholarship applications. Once the Brian Terry Foundation has received 100 applications for the academic year 2022-2023, the application process will be closed. When the online application reopens, applicants who were not accepted for the 2022–2023 academic year will be required to file an update to their application and, at their option, will be placed on a waitlist for the upcoming academic year.

The application deadline is May 31, 2023.
Submit all corroborating documentation (i.e., reference forms, evidence of GPA, etc.). Applications that are incomplete won’t be accepted.

Legibly type or print. Applications that are not readable will be returned to you. CRITERIA – The least GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for applicants.
The applicant must be a citizen of the United States or a legal resident of the country.
The applicant must be a high school senior graduating in May 2022, be enrolled in college, or have plans to enroll in college and be pursuing an undergraduate degree.
The applicant must show evidence of the following: goals and accomplishments, positive community impact, a dedication to social justice, and previous academic achievements.
The student will get sponsorship money after they can show proof of enrollment in an eligible post-secondary institution.
PROCESS FOR APPLICATIONS
The following things are required of the applicant:
1. A fully filled out application (if handwritten, please print legibly in black or blue ink) postmarked by May 31, 2023, at the latest.
2. Two (2) completed reference papers from the applicant’s choice of non-family people (e.g., employers, professors from college, administrators, counselors, high school instructors, etc.). The reference must mail the recommendation form(s) to the Brian Terry Foundation in a sealed envelope.
3. An official transcript from a recent college or high school that shows the total grade point average.
4. Individual Essay: (1,500 Character Limit)
5. One envelope with a self-addressed stamp. This will inform you of the outcome of your scholarship application. You will be informed by normal mail and phone by August 2021 if you have been selected as a Brian Terry Scholar after all entries have been assessed.
