The “Focus on the Future” scholarship initiative, a collaboration between more than 40 colleges and universities in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas, was recently launched by Brookshire Grocery Company.
These donations, which amount to more than $1 million, show BGC’s commitment to supporting those in the community it serves and those who want to improve their futures through education.
To recognize students for their commitment, effort, and exceptional academic achievements, a $25,000 donation to the SAU Foundation established an endowment student scholarship fund.
A student pursuing a profession in management, computer programming, information, and technology, or communications is the target audience for the scholarship. Candidates must be enrolled full-time, in good standing, and have a cgpa of 2.8 in order to be considered.
This program is intended to honor kids in the BGC regional markets for their commitment, effort, and exceptional academic accomplishments.
Starting in the fall of 2021, graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in the partnering universities will receive tuition help through the Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods “Focus on the Future” award.
Each school will have different requirements, but the initiative wants to recognize leaders and those in financial need.
